As well-known, Tungsten Carbide is videly used for heavy equipments and forestry mulchers to longer the service life of the spare parts, for land clearing, forestry mowing, stone crushing, wood chipping, vegtation management, ect.

Korda Machinery makes the premium quality tungsten carbide for carbide spare parts. To ensure the quality, they are made by the right production procedures, and strictly quality control system.
The production process of tungsten carbide mainly includes the following steps: raw material preparation, mixing, drying, sintering and post-processing.
Raw material preparation: First, tungsten powder is prepared from tungsten ore through beneficiation, refining and crushing. Carbon powder is prepared from graphite through carbonization reaction.
Powder Mixing: Mix tungsten powder and carbon powder in a certain proportion. There are two common ways of mixing: mechanical mixing and wet mixing. Mechanical mixing is to mix tungsten powder and carbon powder in a ball mill, while wet mixing is to mix tungsten powder and carbon powder with organic complexing agent respectively before mixing.

Drying: Dry the mixed tungsten carbon powder at high temperature to remove residual moisture. Drying can be carried out in an oven or drying room, and the temperature and time are controlled according to specific process requirements.
Sintering: Sintering is one of the key steps in the production of tungsten carbide. The dried tungsten carbon powder is sintered into blocks by heating at high temperature. The sintering temperature is generally between 1400℃ and 1600℃, and it needs to be maintained for a certain period of time to allow the tungsten powder and carbon powder to react chemically to form tungsten carbide.

Post-processing: Post-processing is performed after sintering, mainly including heat treatment and mechanical processing. Heat treatment is to anneal or over-burn the sintered body to adjust the material properties and reduce internal stress. Mechanical processing is to cut, turn, grind and other processes on the heat-treated tungsten carbide to make it a final product that meets the requirements.
